Still, it doesn’t hurt to be the highest-rated anything, no matter if you hold onto that crown for one week or the full run. Granted, summer shows can get away with lower ratings due to the relative programming graveyard on most networks. The series boasted the highest-rated series debut of the summer, but FOX has more than likely played close attention to the numbers slowly declining week by week. While fans who trickled out of BH90210 would certainly tune back in to see what’s going on between Brandon and Kelly, making a call on a pickup based solely on critical acclaim and ratings doesn’t offer the same insight. However, Season 2 comes with the promise of watching the gang back in actions as their iconic characters. On the one hand, picking up the reboot would be a gamble to bet on the brand’s staying power, but on the other hand, that gamble could pay off should the series rise in popularity on streaming and in possible re-airings.
